Over the past two years, FMC Professional Solutions has been enhancing its granular product line.  First, it added zeta-cypermethrin to its bifenthrin granular product, creating Talstar XTRA for enhanced speed and broad-spectrum protection. Then, it introduced Verge granule technology on its Talstar EZ product. Now, all of the "XTRAs" come standard in one granular product with the introduction of Talstar XTRA granular insecticide featuring Verge Granule Technology. 
 
A unique, clay-based granule developed exclusively for FMC, Verge breaks down quickly to release the active ingredient and disappear into the landscape. Virtually dust- and odor-free, the new formulation reduces exposure to the applicator during application. 

Combining the proven molecule in Talstar with the fast-acting zeta-cypermethrin, Talstar XTRA acts very fast, but it doesn't sacrifice the residual-at least three months-that turf professionals expect. It is labeled for a broad spectrum of surface-feeding pests, including fire ants, Caribbean crazy ants, billbugs, chinch bugs, earwigs, scorpions, fleas and ticks. 
 
Talstar XTRA featuring Verge is labeled for use on turf around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreation areas and athletic fields. It can be used for perimeter, broadcast or mound treatments.
 
Available for use by turf management professionals, Talstar XTRA featuring Verge will continue to be sold in a 25-pound resealable bag. The use-rate varies by pest, but the most common use-rate is 2.3 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
