The HS-50 is a 50-gallon, skid-type hydroseeding system that will seed 650 square feet per load. It is equipped with an 3.5 hp Robin Subaru engine that is directly coupled to a 2-by-2-inch, high-volume centrifugal pump. The unit comes with 50 feet of 1.25-inch discharge hose, a gun and three nozzles (one wide hydroseeding nozzle, one straight distance nozzle, and one trim nozzle). The empty weight of the unit is 195 pounds; the loaded weight is 595 pounds. The physical dimensions are 24 inches wide by 52 inches long by 29 inches high. The size of the skid frame on this unit is 20 by 52 inches, and it will fit in the back of a compact pickup or a utility vehicle, such as the John Deere Gator. It can also be easily operated from a trailer.

The HS-50 is ideal for a golf course for repairing wear along cart paths and for general repairs, for a cemetery, for construction repairs such as someone installing irrigation systems or water lines, and for lawn repair and renovation. It is capable of handling much larger jobs, but if the average job is larger, a bigger machine should be considered. Material is applied at approximately 30 GPM. Time to spray a complete tank is about two minutes. Mixing time is two to five minutes, depending on material. This unit comes with 50 feet of discharge hose, and will easily handle an extra 50 feet of hose. The spray distance with the straight nozzle is approximately 40 feet, and the spray distance with an Area/Volume kit (2-inch cannon) is 60 feet.

Typically, materials used in one load would be 15 pounds of hydroseeding mulch, the appropriate amounts of seed for 650 square feet (any seed will work in hydroseeding), and the appropriate fertilizer for 650 square feet (liquid, water soluble or granular).

Like all Turfbo Turf systems, the HS-50 comes equipped with a long life poly tank that doesn't rust, the ability to mix partial loads, a simple but powerful design with few moving parts, continuous agitation, and the ability to control the flow at the gun without making adjustments at the unit.
