Douglas Dynamics VP John Murphy Running for NTEA Board of Trustees

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – As voting is underway to elect the 2014 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Board of Trustees, Douglas Dynamics, Inc. announces that the company’s John Murphy, vice president of sales, is running for election.

Douglas Dynamics reminds current NTEA members to vote by Feb. 4, 2014, and consider electing John Murphy to the 2014 NTEA Board of Trustees.

Murphy has spent 31 years in the work truck industry. First joining Fisher Engineering in 1982, he has held extensive leadership roles in customer service, regional sales management and marketing. In 2008, Murphy assumed his present position as vice president of sales for Douglas Dynamics, overseeing responsibility of the WESTERN, FISHER and BLIZZARD brands. An active member of the Snow and Ice Management Association, Murphy previously served on its board of directors. 

Murphy desires to give back to an industry that has rewarded him professionally over the years. Leveraging his industry experiences, he is driven to contribute new ideas and serve as a positive advocate for change and continuous improvement within the association. His key industry initiatives include: 

  • Succession planning and developing the next generation of industry professionals.
  • Increasing sales professionalism through training and certification.
  • Future OEM platform development and its impact on manufacturers and dealers.
