The Landscape Show is recognized as one of the premier nursery and landscape trade shows in the country. Know in the 1950s as the FNGA Trade Meet, The Landscape Show has a long history of bringing thousands of members of the nursery industry together.

Taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., the exhibit area at uses 250,000 square feet of space to showcase more than 600 industry companies. Horticultural product lines vary from trees, plants, shrubs, liners, annuals, perennials, foliage and more. Hard good supplies include soils, mulches, equipment, nursery and greenhouse supplies, pavers, stones, statuary and much more.

In addition to the extensive trade show, numerous industry events surround The Landscape Show. Educational classes are available covering everything from production to landscape management and design to retail to FNGLA’s certification programs. Take advantage of the special displays setup at the show to get ideas and practical solutions. Social events provide time for relaxing with old and new friends. Best of all, exchange news, information and industry knowledge as you meet with colleagues and associates.

There’s always something new and exciting to see and learn at The Landscape Show. It has more than 500 exhibiting companies specializing in plants, trees, hardscape and horticulture-related supplies. The FNGLA Short Course offers premium education opportunities through tours, workshops and specialty sessions. Free demonstrations ongoing each day of the show, located inside the exhibit hall. The show has a New Plants & New Products showcase, the FNGLA Landscape Awards Program Presentation Gala and the Landscape Show/SHARE benefit Golf Tournament.

The Landscape Show/SHARE Golf Tournament

Moving to a new golf course adds to the excitement of this popular industry sporting event. This year, the tournament will take place at The Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Club on the New Course, an 18-hole course providing a Scottish links masterpiece. The Villas of Grand Cypress is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course with limited public play. Proceeds from this event benefit the FNGLA Endowed Research Fund.

FNGLA Landscape Awards Gala

Celebrate excellence as FNGLA recognizes the 2008 Award of Excellence recipients for outstanding landscapes. The awards banquet takes place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel on Friday, September 26. The grand finale of the evening is the announcement of the Roy Rood Award winner, given to the most outstanding entry in this year’s competition.

FNGLA Career Fair

More than 300 high school students take part in this hour-long program to learn about college and career opportunities related to the nursery and landscape industry. Industry members share the broad range of job opportunities available as young people consider the future career options available in this growing industry.

FNGLA Certification Celebration

For FNGLA Certified Professionals Only. Come meet with your fellow certified colleagues to catch up on the latest certification information and developments, as well as celebrate professional successes. A reception finishes off this interactive event.

The Landscape Show Opening Day Reception

Open to everyone with a trade show badge. This is the place to meet your industry friends, customers and colleagues to exchange news, views and business cards. Relax with a drink and appetizers as you wrap up business for the day before heading out on the town. The party takes place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel on Thursday, September 25 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The Landscape Show Demonstration Area

Take advantage of informal, free demonstrations! These 15 to 20-minute presentations will take place near the center of the show around the corner from the FNGLA booth. Don’t miss the chance to learn something new. Demonstration schedule is subject to change.

The Green Zone

The Green Zone is a convenient gathering of organizations who can offer practical information related to energy and water conservation, recycling and potential certification points and credits available through landscaping and associated water conservation. Some of the groups participating include Florida Water Star, Florida Green Building Coalition, Florida Yards & Neighborhoods, Irrigation Association, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Florida Automated Weather Network.

In addition, the Green Zone will feature Sustainable Solutions Showcase, highlighting exhibitor products and services that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

You’ll find specific  models of landscapes demonstrating how to receive the most certification points and credits via programs such as LEEDS and Water Star. A “Green Concierge” will be available to answer questions and help direct you to appropriate resources related to your “green” questions and requests.

In the Green Zone, you can tour an environmentally friendly business office, sponsored by Capital Office Products, showcasing various products and processes to make your office more green.

  • Sustainable Solutions Showcase-a display of sustainable and environmentally friendly products available from exhibitors at The Landscape Show.
  • Borrow ideas and inspiration from whimsical displays using plants and landscape products. See the featured EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival display in the main registration lobby, and enjoy the creative Topiary Towers designed by industry professionals from theme parks, resorts and FNGLA chapters to add fun to your visit.
  • Discover a variety of business resources at the BreakPoint Bookstore in the registration lobby. BreakPoint provides a broad cross-section of books and additional resources to add to your landscape and business success.

The Short Course

The FNGLA Short Course is held in conjunction with FNGLA’s The Landscape Show each year. The two-day format offers programs on garden center management, grower management, landscape design and landscape management.

To add to the educational experience and limited to Short Course participants, the FNGLA Short Course typically offers a guided tour of a premier Orlando-area resort or garden area. Designed to excite even the most seasoned landscape professional, this tour offers unique and cutting-edge plant palates.

Get on the bus and enjoy an afternoon at Harry P. Leu Gardens. This tour will highlight special garden features such as the butterfly garden, rose garden and their special collection of palms, cycads and bamboos. A cooking demonstration, featuring Executive Director Robert Bowden, will use herbs from the gardens to tempt attendees’ taste buds. The tour will wrap up with a reception in the gardens. Wear your walking shoes and be ready for a great afternoon. Space is limited; preregistration is required.
