RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – This week, a major exhibition to mark the 150th anniversary of Bayer is at Bayer CropScience’s North American headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C., as part of a world tour taking the interactive show to some 30 venues in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia. The mission, Bayer: Science For A Better Life, is the theme of the exhibition, which gives guests a chance to see and experience for themselves how Bayer improves the quality of life for people worldwide. The exhibition focuses on the topics of health care, agriculture and high-performance materials.

At most museums, people are warned "Do not touch", but on the Bayer Anniversary Tour that rule does not apply. On the contrary: the exhibits – microscopes, thermal imaging cameras, digital games and many more – are designed specifically to be touched and tried out. The concept of the exhibition combines entertaining elements with educational ones to encourage guests to interact with the displays.

The exhibits comprise 22 approximately 2-meter-high boxes with capital letters, each of which refers to a Bayer topic, from A for Aspirin to E for Energy-efficient Mobility to N for New Vision for Agriculture. Each box contains images and informational text on the scientific background and social aspects of the Bayer topic in question. There are numerous interactive elements for guests to try out and experience for themselves. Set up together, the boxes spell out Bayer’s mission: Science For A Better Life.

The exhibition celebrated its premiere in Leverkusen, Germany, in February 2013. In early March, the Bayer Event Team packed the exhibits into containers and sent them on a world tour. As well as Research Triangle Park, many major international cities such as London, SÜo Paulo, Shanghai and Sydney are also on the itinerary.
