WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Briggs & Stratton Corp. will begin hiring for 135 full-time jobs as it moves production from a plant in Georgia to Wisconsin.

Briggs & Stratton expects to add a total of 220 full-time positions and 150 temporary seasonal workers to its facility in Wauwatosa. The additional hiring is expected to happen early next year. In July, Briggs announced that it would close its plant in McDonough, Georgia, and start producing pressure washers, snow throwers and tractors at the plant headquartered here.

The company already has moved some of its manufacturing and assembly lines to Wisconsin, and expects new hires will begin work between January and March. The company is hiring assembly workers, machine operators, forklift/material handling staff, set up technicians, welders, maintenance workers and technicians.

The company’s hiring team plans to screen applications, and qualified individuals will be contacted to attend an invitation-only job fair at the Wauwatosa campus.
