County in State of Washington Bans Neonics

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. – Thurston County is the first county in Washington State to prohibit the use of a certain kind of pesticides known as neonicotinoids, or "neonics" for short.

Thurston County Commissioners have voted against the spraying of the pesticide on all their county facilities (77 acres), parks (2,646 acres) and the 47.1 miles of trails plus the 1 mile of right-of-way landscape.
