ORLANDO, Fla. — Harvey L. Massey, chairman and CEO of Massey Services, is the recipient of The Honorable Marilyn Logsdon Mennello 2015 Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented at “An Evening With Fabulous Friends” black-tie gala, which was recently held at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, and is the signature fundraising event for the Mennello Museum.
In his acceptance speech, Massey recognized Marilyn’s husband, Michael, for his tireless and continued support of the arts. “It would not be an understatement to say that Michael Mennello has poured every fiber of his being into enhancing and improving the quality of art in our community.”
Massey is highly active in the community, and has received many honors for his contributions, and those from Massey Services and the Harvey & Carol Massey Foundation. The Massey Family were one of the first main supporters of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, instrumental in the completion of the Central Florida Veterans Memorial, and sponsored “The Union Sculpture” as part of See Art Orlando’s Downtown Project, as well as being a major contributor to United Arts each year.
