Heart of Texas Landscape and Irrigation Wins Humanitarian Award

A Belton, Texas, landscaping company in October earned a national humanitarian award for its work redesigning the backyard of an Army spouse who is battling breast cancer.

Heart of Texas Landscape and Irrigation, owned by Ben Pamplin, received the Hardscape North American’s first-ever Humanitarian Award on Oct. 25 at a national conference.

The Belton landscaper won the honor for the backyard makeover for the Considine family in Nolanville. Major John Considine was serving his third deployment in Afghanistan during the makeover and his wife, Marily, has been battling stage III breast cancer. The couple has two children, Johnily and Ryan.

The makeover was featured for Mother’s Day on NBC’s Today Show.”

The HNA Hardscape Project Awards drew a record 115 entries. Sponsored by Belgard and Ewing Hardscape Products, 20 awards were presented.
