MPT, Mustard Products and Technologies, Inc., has hired Jay McCord as U.S. Turf Market Development Manager to lead the launch of MustGro Invest biological nematicide, which is derived from 100 percent mustard seed meal and applied directly to the soil to control plant parasitic nematods.
McCord has over 25 years of experience in the turf industry and has focused on the biological nematicide business for the past five years. After completing his formal education at State University of N.Y. in Alfred and The Ohio State University in Columbus majoring in landscape development and ornamental horticulture, he started his career with Nutri-Turf, Inc. as marketing manager of the sod farm divisions. He then worked with ProSource One (now Winfield Solutions) as turf seed manager and national accounts. He was most recently employed by Pasteuria Bioscience as director of marketing and sales and led the launch of the first EPA registered Bionematicide called Econem, which was produced by Syngenta last September.
He has been active in the Florida Turfgrass Association where he served on the Board of Directors for 10 years and was president in 2006-2007.
