Jim Tressel Named 2013 Keynote Speaker at OTF

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Turfgrass Foundation (OTF) and keynote address presenting partner, Syngenta, are pleased to announce that former Ohio State football coach, Jim Tressel, will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 OTF Conference and Show being held December 3-5, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio.
 
Tressel, a native of Mentor, Ohio, currently serves as the vice president of strategic engagement for the University of Akron. During his tenure at Ohio State, Tressel’s teams accumulated an overall record of 94 wins and 22 losses. A highlight of his coaching career at Ohio State includes an undefeated 2002 season, which was capped by a victory over the University of Miami in stunning fashion to win the BCS National Championship.
 
In addition, his Ohio State teams won seven Big Ten titles and appeared in a total of eight BCS bowl games. Prior to taking the helm at Ohio State, Tressel led Youngstown State to four Division I-AA national championships. During his coaching career, he received several awards including numerous Coach of the Year honors, a testament to his passion for teaching and coaching.
 
A proven leader, Tressel is sure to captivate the audience with his message of teamwork and preparation. The Keynote Address presented by Syngenta will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 4 as part of the Awards, Scholarships and Keynote presentation beginning at 1 p.m. on the tradeshow floor’s main stage.
