With summer comes the summertime burden of pesky mosquitoes. But that doesn’t mean area residents need to bring their parties indoors. Mosquito Joe is doing its part to support National Mosquito Control Awareness Week June 23 – 29, through company donations on the corporate and franchisee levels.
During the week, franchisees in the network are providing 5 percent of sales for each new customer who signed up to blood donation centers in their local communities. A five percent match from the brand’s corporate location in Virginia Beach, Va. is also given, said Kevin Wilson, CEO for the brand.
"National Mosquito Control Awareness Week is a very important time of year for us so we wanted to make sure we did our part to give back to the local communities where we operate," said Mosquito Joe CEO (aka Head Joe) Kevin Wilson. "That’s why we engaged the franchisees in our network to make those important connections while doing something good for the community, but also helping curb the ongoing summertime mosquito issue. As this is our first step in supporting the week, we hope it is a strong and strategic step for more things to come."
Considering many areas of the country are wooded or near ponds, Mosquito Joe offers a treatment solution for those looking to deal with mosquitoes, ticks and other insects. Knowing that mosquitoes can only travel about 20 feet before they land, Mosquito Joe strategically places treatments in a barrier pattern so mosquitoes have nowhere to go. They use an all-organic spray that protects fish while simultaneously removing mosquitoes. The first spray removes about 85 percent of mosquitoes, and usually the second spray sets the property, Wilson added.
