MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Hank Mullany resigned as CEO of The ServiceMaster Co. effective Friday, April 12. Mullany’s resignation was announced this past week by the company along with the appointment of John Krenicki Jr. as the Memphis-based company’s interim CEO, reports the Memphis Daily News.

Krenicki remains as chairman of ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc, the parent company of ServiceMaster. He’s also a senior partner of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, the private equity firm that bought ServiceMaster in 2007. Krenicki became chairman of the parent company earlier this year.

Mullany was appointed CEO in March 2011 after serving as executive vice president of Walmart U.S. His first move at ServiceMaster (and his first challenge) was addressing ServiceMaster’s TruGreen lawn care business. Two months after joining the company he named Tom Brackett, from the Terminix division, as interim president of TruGreen, replacing Stephen Donly who resigned. ServiceMaster took away the interim title announcing Brackett as TruGreen president in December 2011.

He didn’t stay in that post very long.

In October 2012, Brackett resigned as president of TruGreen, and was replaced on an interim basis by CEO Mullany, who this past March 29 also saw the defection of Chuck Fallon as president of Terminix. Fallon, who served in that position for just over year, left to take the position of CEO of FirstService Residential, a subsidiary of FirstService Corporation, which manages residential communities in the United States. Fallon was named president of Terminix in December 2011 after having served as president of Burger King North America.

Memphis-based ServiceMaster is the parent company of Terminix, TruGreen, American Home Shield, Merry Maids, ServiceMaster Clean, Amerispec, FurnitureMedic and TruGreen LandCare.
