SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Chris Dambach, a Marine Corps combat veteran, will receive the 2015 Veteran-Owned Business Achievement Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration Syracuse District Office.

The award recognizes the success of a local business owner who has served in the military and whose business has, among other things, shown staying power, demonstrated growth in employees or sales, and provided an innovative service or product. Dambach served with the 1st Marine Division 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance in Iraq in 2009. After his service, he started Veteran Lawn and Landscape in 2010 and has grown it into a million-dollar business with 15 employees and 17 subcontractors. His company focuses on landscaping services for federal facilities, including national cemeteries.

Dambach will receive the award at the Operation: Start Up & Grow veterans business conference March 19 at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College.
