New Holland Construction today announced it is the Platinum sponsor of the Professional Landcare Network’s (PLANET’s) 16th annual Renewal & Remembrance landscaping event scheduled for July 9, 2012, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

New Holland Construction will donate the use of equipment to help dig, load and move mulch, lime and other materials to enhance the beauty of the military cemetery and national landmark.

"We are proud to donate our equipment, time and resources to such an important and rewarding cause that honors America’s veterans," said Jim Hasler, vice president of CNH Construction, North America. "When you see the thousands of tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery, you can’t help but feel a deep sense of admiration and appreciation for the men and women who so bravely serve our country."

In 2008, New Holland Construction donated the use of a backhoe loader and two skid steer loaders to the Renewal & Remembrance event to help remove plants and trees from a 700-square-foot planter bed, dispose of discarded plants, bring in fresh soil and prepare areas of Arlington National Cemetery for replanting.

According to PLANET, this is the largest green industry day of service in the United States. Each year, the Renewal & Remembrance event draws hundreds of volunteers to Arlington National Cemetery to spend the day mulching, cabling and installing lightning protection for trees, and pruning, planting, liming and aerating the more than 200 acres of land that make up these sacred national grounds.

With nearly 3,500 member companies and affiliates, PLANET represents more than 100,000 green industry professionals across America. To learn more about PLANET’s annual Renewal & Remembrance event, please visit www.landcarenetwork.org/renewal.
