There will be a second organizational meeting to establish an Oklahoma Irrigation Association. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 12 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City. The meeting will be in the Agriculture Research Center (ARC) located at 400 North Portland, Oklahoma City. The ARC is located just south of the railroad tracks on Portland Avenue.

Chad Forcey from the Irrigation Association in Falls Church, Va., will be on hand to assist the Oklahoma chapter with its formation. For those unable to make the meeting, the Irrigation Association has provided the Oklahoma chapter with the use of their teleconference service, by using the conference call dial in number 712-432-6100 and passcode 229313.

Some may recall that an Oklahoma chapter of the Irrigation Association (IA) attempted to organize in 2008; however, there was only limited interest, and the association never got off the ground. For long-term success of an Oklahoma Irrigation Association, there must be active participation by Oklahoma irrigation contractors with a definite purpose and long-term vision. Water purveyors, contractors, manufacturers and distributors have all been invited to this second meeting of the fledgling Oklahoma chapter of the IA.

Come make history as an Oklahoma Irrigation Association chapter forms.
