HAZLET, N.J. — “We care what you put on your turf because we know who plays on it.” This is the message of the photo contest launched by Performance Nutrition, a producer of eco-safe fertilizers, disease control products and soil amendments for turf, ornamental and agriculture. Winners earn a spot on the company’s 2016 calendar.

The contest asks turf professionals and the general public to submit photos of their family members—children, grandchildren, dogs, cats or other pets—playing in the grass. Photos may be submitted at the Performance Nutrition website. Submitted photos deemed within the contest guidelines are turned into social media memes with the headline: “We care what you put on your turf because we know who plays on it.” The memes are posted on the company website, as well as the Performance Nutrition social media outlets on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr.

The memes to get the most social media “votes” of  likes and shares on Facebook, and the most favorites and retweets on Twitter will earn a spot on the company’s 2016 calendar. Participants are encouraged to share their memes with colleagues, friends and family members to gain more exposure and social media votes.

The contest runs through September.

The campaign began with photos of the children and family of Performance Nutrition staffers, and was opened up to distributors and dealers of Performance Nutrition products after the first of the year. The contest launched in May.
