Congratulations to Robert "B.J." Harry of Stano Landscaping, Inc. for winning the Lawns of Wisconsin Network (LaWN) Employee of the Year Award. This is a well-deserved honor for his achievements over the last two years at Stano Landscaping, Inc.

While attending college, Harry spent his summers working as a crew member and eventually became a crew foreman on hardscape installation and planting projects. It was at this time that he developed his ability to carry out projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. He also acquired a passion for native Wisconsin plants and prairies. This passion was the main focus of his capstone thesis ("Prairie Sustainability: What the Eye Can’t See") at Lawrence University before graduating in 2009.

From 2009-2011, Harry worked as a landscape technician at Kohler Landscape in Kohler, Wis. While there, he worked on village-scale projects to help promote Kohler Company’s green initiative by greatly reducing their carbon footprint. In 2011, he joined the team at Stano Landscaping. During his first year with Stano he worked in the field as a crew leader where he was able to learn how the company carried out daily operations and understand the quality of work that Stano expects. Entering his second year he was given the opportunity to take on greater responsibilities within the Landscape Maintenance Department, working on projects large and small as well as dealing with customer requests and service issues.

From this, he has grown into his current role as landscape management supervisor, responsible for the daily planning and dispatching of crews for detail maintenance, mowing and chemical applications. When he is not supervising crews and checking on quality control, he is focusing on growing existing client relationships and following up on sales leads for landscape maintenance and construction services.
