Ruppert Announces Regional Vice President Promotions

LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape has promoted both Doug Halsey and Fred Key to the position of Regional Vice President. In this role, both Key and Halsey will lead the landscape management division, providing strategic vision and operational insight, and acting as a resource for their branch managers in the areas of people development, training, customer service and profitability.

Halsey will be responsible for the northern region, which includes the company’s branches in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Pennsylvania. A resident of Frederick, Md., he has over 24 years of industry experience and has been with Ruppert for over 18 years serving in a variety of positions including crewman, field manager, area manager and branch manager. Halsey holds a bachelor’s degree in plant science from SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill, N.Y.  He is a certified landscape professional, and in 2004 received one of the company’s top honors, the Clyde Vadner Merit Award, which is presented to the individual who has demonstrated consistent hard work and dedication leading to exceptional contributions to the organization

Key will be responsible for the southern region, which includes the company’s branches in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia. He is a resident of Haymarket, Va., and has over 20 years of industry experience. He has been with Ruppert for 12 years serving in a variety of positions including crewman, foreman, area manager, controller, landscape construction production manager, division administrator, landscape management branch manager and region manager. Key holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Salisbury State University where he majored in accounting. He is a certified landscape professional and in 2009, he received one of the company’s top honors, the Clyde Vadner Merit Award, which is presented to the individual who has demonstrated consistent hard work and dedication leading to exceptional contributions to the organization.
