STIHL, Inc. participated in PLANET’s Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery on July 28, 2014.
Every July, hundreds of landscape and lawn care professionals from across the nation bring their crews to Arlington National Cemetery to spend the day mulching, upgrading sprinklers, cabling and installing lightning protection for trees, pruning, planting, liming and aerating the soil. Many PLANET members have special connections at the cemetery either through relatives and friends who are buried there or through their own military service.
The day began at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony featuring a joint color guard and speaker presentations to dedicate the day of work and helping to maintain these hallowed grounds.
PLANET partnered on the event with the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS), and the event’s Platinum sponsors were Caterpillar, Inc. and New Holland Construction.
