HERNDON, Va. — The National Association of Landscape Professionals (formerly PLANET) is rebranding its annual education convention from the Green Industry Conference to LANDSCAPES.

The Green Industry Conference is held in Louisville each October in partnership with GIE+EXPO and Hardscapes North America.

“Our convention has been called GIC for short, which sounds similar to the GIE+EXPO, so we wanted a new name and brand that stands out, will attract new attendees and works well with our new association branding,” said NALP CEO Sabeena Hickman, CAE, CMP. “Our convention focuses on helping people understand the business and regulatory landscape in our industry and the new name reflects that.”

The change is part of the larger National Association of Landscape Professionals rebranding which includes a focus on providing an invaluable knowledge platform and the education and networking sessions at LANDSCAPES are an important part of that.

This year’s convention will feature more than 40 sessions presented in five different learning formats including town hall meetings, deep-dive workshops, lightning-round sessions, facilitated roundtable discussions and one-on-one personal consultations with industry mentors (Trailblazers). LANDSCAPES is the only education event of its size that brings together the most sought-after industry experts and business and professional development experts from outside the industry.

LANDSCAPES is sponsored by JOHN DEERE at the Platinum level, with additional support by Caterpillar as Gold Sponsor and Bayer as Silver Sponsor.
