ALCC Announces Board Members
The Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado announced the 2011 state board of directors. The members are president Judd Bryarly, vice president Barry Wagner, secretary/treasurer Kevin Overley, past president Carole Kastler and at-large directors Bill Cary, Nate Caldwell, Kathleen Cope, Zachary Johnson, Laurel Madden, Peter Milstein, Jeff Oxley and Mark Pribramsky.
Wade Elected CLCA President
The California Landscape Contractors Association announced that Robert Wade of Wade Landscape, Inc. was installed as the new president. A member of the CLCA since 1994 and former director of legislation, Wade has over 30 years of industry experience and a number of industry certifications, including the EPA’s Water Sense Irrigation Partner. He started Wade Landscape in 1977 and holds a bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture from Cal Poly Pomona.
San Diego CLCA Awards Fletcher
The San Diego California Landscape Contractors Association awarded California State Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher with the CLCA Legislator of the Year award. The chapter recognized Fletcher for his commitment and dedication to water conservation and his aggressive protection of landscape-related San Diego businesses.
IA Welcomes Markey
The Irrigation Association has hired Kathleen Markey as marketing director. Markey has served as the director of association marketing at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and has also worked for United Way of America, American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Earle Palmer Brown agency. For the past several years, Markey has consulted as a strategic director for a marketing communications agency. She holds bachelor’s degrees in business and marketing from Virginia Tech.
New ARA Foundation Trustees
Charlie Neffle, who served as chair, and Dennis Von Ruden both completed their terms in office for the American Rental Association Foundation board of trustees. Each had served for three years, with Neffle in his leadership position for two. Doron Broadfoot took over as the new chair of the board. Catherine DeBusk is the new vice chair. Andy Cooke and Dave Garton joined the board as new trustees.
