Bayer Environmental Science NA Announces New Organization
The current Bayer Advanced consumer and Bayer Environmental Science professional organization are forming a transversal functional organization that continues to serve its distinct business channels with one focused leadership team for the North American business. Dr. Jacqueline Applegate has been named head of Bayer Environmental Science North America, a division of Bayer CropScience LP. The following leaders are serving in the new organization: Gilles Galliou, vice president of commercial operations; Chris Bremen, director of marketing; Mark Schneid, director of strategic marketing; Patrick Hinojosa, director of supply chain and manufacturing; Karen Shearer, director of regulatory affairs; Terry Gouge, director of product development; and Peter Happe, director of controlling and business services. In the commercial operations function, the following have been named as business leaders: Jose Milan, director of professional turf and ornamental business operations; Chris Pienaar, director of professional pest control and vector business operations; Jim Van Handel, director of consumer branded business operations; and Brian Rosenberg, Canadian business manager.
Velocity Herbicide Registered for New York Turf
Velocity Herbicide has been approved by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation for use on Poa annua and Poa trivialis. In addition to Poa, Velocity also suppress dollar spot and selectively controls broadleaf weeds.
PBI/Gordon Announces New Product Sales Specialist
Jim Goodrich has joined the Professional Turf & Ornamental Products team of PBI/Gordon Corporation as product sales specialist. He will be responsible for product development and management of the existing products and programs for the professional group.
Goodrich has a well-rounded background from successful positions in LESCO/John Deere golf sales and as a golf course superintendent in the Kansas City area. Most recently, he was a commercial account sales manager for PBI/Gordon’s Commercial Sales Group.
FMC Receives Federal Registration for SquareOne
A new “starter” herbicide providing postemergent weed control without the wait, SquareOne from FMC Professional Solutions has been registered by the EPA for use on lawns, golf courses, sod farms and athletic fields.
Designed for newly seeded turf, including interseeding and hydroseeding, SquareOne is labeled for crabgrass and many small broadleaf weeds.
Agrium Advanced Technologies Launches Direct-to-Market Sales Division
Agrium Advanced Technologies has implemented a new direct-to-market sales division called Agrium Advanced Technologies Direct Solutions. The division boasts more than 100 industry professional field representatives across North America that serve the golf, lawn care and landscape, nursery and greenhouse market sectors, and is a one-stop supplier to the turf and ornamental markets.
