Artisan Completes Green River Project

In its largest project to date on the East Coast, Artisan Precast completed the construction of a wall bordering the Green River Parkway in Stuart, Fla. The project used 7-foot-high FenceStone concrete fencing with steel reinforcement.

OSU’s Taliaferro Honored

Charles M. Taliaferro, Oklahoma State University regents’ professor emeritus, received the C. Reed Funk Award from the Turfgrass Breeders Association. The award honors individuals for their dedication to turfgrass breeding and their influence in the field of education. While at OSU, Taliaferro’s research focused on the genetic improvement of grasses for forage, turf and biofuels feedstock. He joined the OSU faculty in 1968.

Jacobsen Expands Territory

Jacobsen announced the appointment of Golf Ventures West as the new Jacobsen dealer for Georgia, Alabama and north Florida. This expands the company’s relationship with Golf Ventures West, which currently represents Jacobsen in Phoenix, Ariz.; Corona, San Diego, Oxnard, Hayward and Sacramento, Calif.; and Las Vegas, Nev. Golf Ventures West operations will be led by Mike Eastwood. Garry Callahan, a 38-year industry veteran and a Jacobsen dealer for over 20 years, has joined Golf Ventures West.

Town Point Recognized for Design Excellence

The redevelopment of Town Point Park, an urban waterfront park in Norfolk, Va., was recognized with a Merit Award from the Potomac and Maryland chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The restoration, designed by LSG Landscape Architecture, Vienna, Va., transformed the aging, 9-acre site into a prominent venue for performances and festivals, as well as a community centerpiece for public art and culture.

CNH Contributes to Haiti Disaster Relief

Case New Holland is supporting relief efforts in Haiti following the devastating earthquake by providing Case, New Holland and Kobelco construction equipment and companywide monetary donations. In addition to making a company donation, CNH committed to matching employee cash donations.

Wick Announces Plans to Emerge from Bankruptcy

The Wick Buildings division of Wick Building Systems, Inc. plans to emerge from bankruptcy under the new ownership of its original founder, John F. Wick. Wick Building Systems filed for Chapter 11 in late November after four years of declining market conditions and performance in its housing units. John Wick made an offer to purchase the assets and intellectual property of Wick Buildings, including the operations and production campus in Mazomanie, Wis.
