CNH Appoints Vice President

CNH appointed Henrik Starup to the position of vice president of Construction Equipment Europe. Starup comes to CNH from IVECO and has over 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing. He will be responsible for further developing and strengthening the positioning of the Case Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction brands in the marketplace.

Redexim Partners with Dakota Ag

Dakota Ag Innovations, based in South Dakota, has entered a marketing and distribution partnership with Redexim North America. As part of the agreement, Redexim will carry the products Dakota Shine and Prep. Dakota Shine restores color and luster to faded, oxidized surfaces like paint and plastics. Dakota Prep is a water-based, biodegradable cleaner.

Baystate Produces Organic Landscaping Product List

The NOFA Organic Land Care Program announced the creation of a regional landscaping products list. Baystate Organic Certifiers will maintain this third-party list. Baystate will review submitted products and list those that meet NOFA standards. The list will be available on the NOFA OLC Web site at www.organiclandcare.shtml. Barebo Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Mike Ward

Ruppert Promotes Ward, Opens Baltimore Branch

Ruppert Landscape promoted Mike Ward, Gainesville, Ga., to the newly created corporate position of director of pre-construction services and estimating. He will head a newly created department that will provide reliable estimating and pre-construction services for projects that are in process or in the planning stages. Ward joined the company in 1990 as a crewman.

In addition to its 11 branch offices in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, Ruppert has opened a location just outside of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. John Harich, who has been with the company for seven years, heads the new branch.

Personnel News from Foley

Foley, Inc. has promoted John Goleskie to the position of emissions retrofit and government sales manager. He started his career with Foley in 2002 as a product support manager and was promoted to major account manager in 2004. Goleskie holds a bachelor’s degree in diesel technologies.

Mike Kressler has rejoined Foley as a counterperson for the corporate parts department. He started his career at Foley in 1995 and worked there for 11 years before leaving to work for a neighboring Caterpillar dealership.

Cleary Appoints COO

Bill Bewlay, vice president of operations, was appointed to the position of chief operating officer by the W.A. Cleary Corp. board of directors. As COO, he assumes responsibility for day-to-day business operations for Cleary Chemical Corp., headquartered in Dayton, N.J.

Wright Takes Position at Eastman-Ingersoll

Jeff Wright has been appointed to the position of vice president of sales and marketing for Eastman Industries and Ingersoll Tractor Co.. Wright has spent more than 27 years in the outdoor power equipment industry and served as vice president of sales and marketing for Hitachi/Tanaka Power Equipment.

Carhartt Partners with Cintas

Cintas Corp. has partnered with Carhartt to offer a line of Carhartt garments designed specifically for the uniform rental market. The Carhartt uniform line includes a work shirt in blue and sandstone, a carpenter jean, a five-pocket work jean and canvas dungaree pants in navy and Carhartt brown.

The companies are conducting the “Are You Carhartt Tough?” contest. Three finalists will be announced each quarter, and after a year, the 12 finalists will be featured on the contest Web site, and the public will vote for a winner. Contestants can register by visiting www.carharttrental.com.

Terex Wins Green Award, Launches Used Equipment Web Site

Terex Utilities won the Green Award for its HyPower Hybrid system at the Work Truck Show 2010. A panel of trade media editors selected the system from among 21 entries as the best new product displayed at the show that advances fuel utilization. The HyPower Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle system that allows utility truck operators to save up to 1.5 gallons of fuel per hour.

Terex launched a dedicated used equipment Web site at www.terex.com/used. It allows contractors to access spec information, photos and MSRP on used equipment for sale through Terex.

NTEP Conducting Survey

The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program posted an eight-question survey on its Web site at www.ntep.org/contents2.shtml. The survey aims to find out more about who visits the NTEP Web site and why, and to help NTEP redefine its programs, data collection and presentation methods to provide the best information.

NaturaLawn Welcomes Operations Manager

NaturaLawn of America has hired Matthew Sandy as operations manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in turf and urban agronomy from the University of Maryland and has over six years of experience in the golf course industry. Most recently, he served as assistant superintendent at Lowes Island Club.

Kioti Hosts Dealer Meeting

Kioti Tractor held its annual dealer meeting in Raleigh, N.C., with over 200 representatives from 115 dealerships in attendance. The three-day event featured a welcome reception, sales training, product announcements and opportunities to provide feedback.

Kioti announced its 2009 Million Dollar Dealers during the meeting. They were A&R Payeur; Équipements G. Gagon, Inc.; Gary Sales & Service, Inc.; Hoover Tractor, Inc.; Little Tractor & Equipment, Inc.; Lynch Equipment Co. Komatsu Recognized for Commitment to Green Technology

Komatsu America Corp. was recognized by the office of Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for its commitment to green technology and its hybrid PC200LC-8 excavator. The excavator is one of a number of other kinds of green machines that the Port of Los Angeles has introduced or tested, resulting in reduced diesel emissions that comply with a Clean Air Action Plan adopted in November 2006 by the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Maruyama Forms Partnership with SSE

Maruyama U.S., Inc. has entered a business partnership with South Shore Equipment, Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii. SSE will distribute the entire Maruyama line in the Hawaiian Islands, Guam and Saipan.

GIE Adds High-Performance Department

Building on the success of the High-Performance Service Center, introduced at GIE+EXPO in 2009, the new High-Performance Parts & Accessories Department is planned to provide power equipment dealers with an informative mix of education, displays and demonstrations. Ten sponsoring companies have teamed up with Bob Clements International, Heftee Industries and Ideal Computer Systems to provide presentations, discussions and guided tours. DuPont and ForeverLawn to Market Synthetic Grass

DuPont Landscape Systems and ForeverLawn, Inc. are working together to market a line of natural-looking synthetic grass products under the brand name of DuPont ForeverLawn Select Synthetic Grass. DuPont plans to launch the line on its Web site and implement a cooperative plan with ForeverLawn to increase the products’ market penetration in 2010.

Course on Lighting Water

A new, accredited course on the topic of “Lighting Water: Effects & Design Considerations,” hosted by AEC Daily, is available online via the course link on the new Crystal Fountains Web site at crystalfountains.com/Accredited.aspx. The course provides designers with an overview of different methods and key design factors to achieve desired effects in lighting water, along with detailed technical and costing information. It is AIA/CES and CSI CEN approved and qualifies for 1.5 learning units.

VAST Wins Design Award

VAST Enterprises, LLC received the Design for Sustainability Award from the Plastics Environmental Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers. VAST received the honor as part of the 2010 Environmental Stewardship Awards competition. The award recognizes contributions to the betterment of the environment resulting from unique engineering or chemical design with plastics.
