Popularity of the Wright Stander Helps Takes Dealer to the Top

Major League Power Equipment, a dealership specializing in landscape, lawn and outdoor power equipment in East Setauket, N.Y., is one of the leading dealers in Wright Stander sales in the Northeast corridor for the second consecutive year.

Over the last three years, Wright Stander sales at Major League Power Equipment have more than doubled.

The Wright Stander was introduced in 1997 and was the first and only mower on the market at the time to feature the now familiar stand-on design. Artie D’Ambre, owner of Major League Power Equipment, was the first dealer on Long Island to offer the Stander. The Stander quickly became his best-selling model, and has been a major factor, along with the addition of other Wright models, in helping to drive Major League Power Equipment’s growth and success ever since.

Today, the dealership offers 15 Wright models, with the 36-inch Stander Rapid Height its best-selling model.

In addition to offering the full Wright lineup, the dealership stocks every single part of each Wright mower.

Kawasaki Exits Hand-Held Power Products Segment

The Engines and Power Products Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC), has announced it will no longer remain in the hand-held power products business category after Dec. 31, 2013. The company’s dealers were notified of the supplier’s decision to halt production of the Kawasaki branded equipment, effective at the end of this year.

Kawasaki said the move allows the company and its dealer network to focus resources on its core business: premium four-cycle engines, which have always been the mainstay of its operations and will continue with even greater emphasis.

Kawasaki’s hand-held power products line includes string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, hedge clippers, an edger, and a multi-task series and has been a popular choice among lawn and garden professionals since 1997.

The company told its dealers that it will continue to implement programs and promotions that had previously been announced for the 2013 calendar year, and that all service and warranty support programs will remain in force for any units ordered prior to Dec. 31, 2013. This includes the stocking of parts needed to satisfy any claims for the life of the standard product warranty.

Kawasaki is assuring both customers and dealers that its supplier’s decision to discontinue production doesn’t affect KMC’s intention to honor after-sales responsibilities for products purchased before the end of this year.
