Battle Snow with the Power Broom

Toro’s 36-inch Power Broom is equipped with a Kohler 208CC Command Pro Multi Season engine that delivers 200 RPM to the broom head. The variable speed, shift on-the-fly transmission has six forward and two reverse positions, making it easy to set the appropriate speed for the job.

This unit also features patented power steering that reduces operator fatigue. The wheels can be disengaged independently or simultaneously with trigger controls to make turning, reversing and steering easy. With controls similar to many Toro snow throwers, the rotary broom has independent control levers for drive and boom engagement and a thumb-operated broom angle adjustment that can be positioned up to 20 degrees left or right of center.

Making adjustments is easy with the positive pin-type height adjustments that can be adjusted at 1/8-inch increments. The unit comes configured with snow and concrete bristles, but can easily be configured for turf bristles. Numerous accessories are available, including a tire chain kit, snow cab, turf caster kit, dirt deflectors, concrete/snow bristle discs, turf bristle discs, light kit and a debris box.

Sweepin’ Snow

The SS-4000 walk-behind rotary broom with a plow attachment for snow removal and other cleanup applications from SnowEx is powered by a 160cc Honda GXV Series engine.

The SS-4000 features a floating pivotal broom head with five angle settings to adjust the trajectory of snow and other materials. The 16-inch-diameter broom is centrally driven, allowing the unit to work against curbs, walls and other obstacles from either the left- or right-hand side. Brush rotation speed is infinitely adjustable, and down pressure can be increased or decreased by raising or lowering the pneumatic support wheel.

For heavier snow conditions, the operator can install a front-mounted blade attachment, which comes standard with the unit. The 40-inch blade uses a unique pin system for easy installation and removal.

Operation is simple, thanks to user-friendly controls and seven-position height adjustment of the handlebars. The unit offers three forward gears and one reverse gear, and a locking differential helps the machine drive in a straight path. A freewheel feature is also included to allow easy 360-degree turning.

The frame of the SS-4000 folds for easy storage, and the wheels are easily removable. Other standard features include winter-tread tires and a corrosion-resistant paint finish. Optional equipment includes a debris collector box for catching material during cleanup applications.

Less Strain, More Gain

The Coxreels Hose Strain Relief Kit protects the hose fittings and connections from potential damage by providing strain relief when the hose is fully extended on the reel. Under use, the clamp takes on the force from the over-extended hose and protects the hose fittings and connections at the riser from excessive tension. With the mounted strain relief kit, the hose remains secured against the drum allowing the hose to be routed between the riser connection and the clamp with a proper bend radius, minimizing the opportunity for the hose to strain, especially in soft wall hose applications.

This simple accessory is available for hand-crank and motorized reels with hose sizes between .5- and 1.5-inch hose I.D. The drums found on Coxreels hand-crank and motorized hose reels now feature mounting slots to fit our hose strain relief kit. All existing hand crank and motorized hose reels in the field can also be modified to accommodate this kit.
